Night Time Drivng Sucks

When I wanted to become a truck driver, I used to think traveling at night would be cool. I couldn't be more wrong! There is something about being awake at 3:00 in the morning and your body starts to shut down. I used to deal with this when I worked security at MCI. Walking around, doing security is far different from driving a big rig! I was driving from Blue Ridge, MO to Memphis, TN last night. I had an 8 a.m. appointment and I was way ahead of schedule. Around 2 a.m., I started looking for a place to park for a few hours. 2 a.m. passed by, then 2:30 a.m. passed, and my eyes were starting to close. Finally at 3 a.m. I found a closed weight station that was being occupied by other trucks to shut down. I set my alarm, to wake up around 5:30 a.m., knowing that I was only 80 miles away. I must of been exhauted because I never heard the alarm, and thanks to the Howard Stern Show on Sirius, I awoke at 6 a.m. It still left me enough time to get to my appointment. As I pulled into the reciever, my A/C went out. Now, I'm back in Memphis getting it fixed. Good Times!
My wife and I have talked about getting a Nintendo Wi Fit for the house. Those things are impossible to find, but if we find one, I told her to pick one up. My sister has one and she says it has done wonders for her. As I approach the milestone of 300 lbs, I know it would be useful for me when I get home.
I don't know where I'm heading next, probably more night driving, dammit!!!
