What a Day!

If I could go back in time, it would be last night. I was parked in Indianapolis, IN at the Flying J. I had an appointment at Fed Ex at 2:00 in the morning. According to the contract that my company has with Fed Ex, the driver is to arrive at Fed Ex at scheduled time for staging, then leave no later than an hour later to deliver the load. We normally have 10 hrs. to deliver the load.
I set my alarm for 12:00....p.m! Oops!!! My mother, who rides with me from time to time, woke me up and told me I was running late. I awoke at 2:30 a.m., already 30 minutes late. I called to apoligze and get directions. They sent me directions to the facillity and I headed toward Fed Ex. I must of still been groggy because I swore my directions told me to exit Kentucky Rd and drive approx. 25 miles. I didn't see the . in front of the 25. Oops, again! So after I drove 50 miles to Fed Ex when it was only 5 miles away, I arrived at 4:00.
I needed to deliver this load by 12:00 p.m. or else I wouldn't be paid for the load. I left Fed Ex at 4:59 a.m. EST, heading to Memphis. I was 442 miles away and needed to get there 7 hrs. By car, this would be no big deal. In a commerical vehicle, when you enter the state of Illinois, the speed limit is 55. Well...I broke that rule. I was lucky I wasn't caught.
I arrived at Fed Ex in Memphis by 11:56 p.m., on time. I will get paid (Thank God!).
